- 'Locomotive 683 heads a royal train carrying the Duke and Duchess of York, as it leaves Field on October 4, 1901. Four pusher locomotives (two more than usual) have been assigned to the ten car train, perhaps indicating that the CPR did not wish the future King George to come to grief on the Big Hill. - Six CPR locomotives on the Stoney Creek Bridge in the Selkirks. Date is prior to November 1893 when the replacement steel bridge was completed. Note the supporting false work is still in place and the furthest of the original three Howe trusses appears to have been removed.
